“Is nothing sacred Sempre Music?  The answer is definitely no and for that we are all the better for it.”  Gerard McChrystal CASS Autumn 2014

We specialise in sheet music for woodwind, trumpet and mixed ensembles. We aim to give instrumentalists and teachers the opportunity to play music arranged and composed as a result of many years experience of teaching in schools and performing professionally.

Please take note of the following:

It has come to our attention that there is a new company in the Music Retail sector called SEMPRE MUSIC UK who are specialising in repairs and sales of wind instruments at the moment.

They are nothing to do with Sempre Music Publishing, so please continue to contact us on this website for any publications.  Please feel free to forward this information to anyone else who may be interested.  Thank you for reading this.

As the Gran Partita First Movement has proved popular, we have added 2 Flute arrangements of this music.  One is for a larger flute choir and the other does not include the 2nd bass flute or contra-bass flute.

We have two new arrangements of the Gran Partita First Movement, for separate Clarinet and Saxophone Choir.  If you have enjoyed playing some of the other movements of Gran Partita in our catalogue, and you would like a challenge, take a look at these two arrangements.

You may have played our most popular Flute quartet Badinerie Bites Back, but would like to play it as a solo version with piano.  We now have an arrangement for flute and piano, which is great fun to play.

A new arrangement for clarinet choir may be of interest if you want a short but challenging piece for concerts General-Lavine Eccentric by Debussy.  This is not perhaps in the style normally associated with Debussy, but works well for this clarinet ensemble.  Take a look!

If you have a Piccolo, Alto flute and Bass Flute in your ensemble, you may like to try Gran Partita Adagio arranged for 8 Flutes.

In addition to the existing arrangements for Clarinet and Saxophone quartets, we now have an arrangement of ‘A Trio of Debussy for Quartet‘ for 4 Flutes.  There are challenges in this arrangement, but a worthwhile quartet to rehearse and perform.  Reviewed by Just Flutes.

The ‘Entrance of the Queen of Sheba’ has always been a concert pleaser for the many published arrangements, but it has often been too much of a challenge for wind players.  We are pleased to have now published an arrangement, The Eventual arrival of the Queen of Sheba, that allows some reasonable time for breaths, and also includes interest through the parts.  The basic arrangement is for quartet for SATB saxophones and a separate arrangement for 3 B♭ Clarinets and bass B Clarinet, but the flute arrangement can be played on 4 C Flutes with optional Alto and Bass Flute parts supplied.

We are very pleased to be a corporate sponsor for the latest forthcoming recording by the Czech Philharmonic Woodwind Orchestra, conducted by Shea Lolin, and wish them every success in their new venture.

Looking for concert openers for the year ahead for more advanced players?  Take a look at our three separate arrangements of the 1st movement of JS Bach’s Toccata in G for flute, clarinet and saxophone quartets.

Some good challenges can be found in our new arrangements of The American Quartet by Dvorak, for separate clarinet and saxophone quartets.  Players need to be grade 7/8, but there is a lot of interesting material to work with, and places to breathe have been included!

There are now 2 new separate Debussy arrangements for SATB saxophone and clarinet quartet.  They include 3 titles which are particularly suitable for wind instruments, and graded at 6-8, although part 1 will require a good grade 8 standard.

You may be familiar with After the Sun for saxophone ensemble or quartet – but now there is a new version for Alto Saxophone and piano.  If you order this new arrangement we can email you an MP3 file with the accompaniment.

We have 2 new arrangements for Saxophone quartet and Clarinet quartet using 5 movements from the Nutcracker Suite by Tchaikowsky.  Nuts! It’s a Cracker includes several different styles, including swing, that should be a great concert item.

Pauline Gordon has written a new piece for Soprano or Tenor saxophone and piano called Fitness Suite.  It consists of 3 contrasting movements – all with character and humour and is definitely worth a look!  Here are some notes from the composer about the animation: “This animation accompanies my composition for piano and Soprano Saxophone published by Sempre Music as part of my Fitness Suite. Saxophone played by Mike Smith and animated by Johno Owens.”  https://youtu.be/_o21lmzU_Mk.

Please check our reviews section for more information about some of our popular titles.  There are two reviews included in the CASSGB magazine for June 2019 – they could be of interest to Saxophone Octets when choosing some new music for this coming year.
